Ida wins LCAA - 11/1/2002
Ida won another league basketball title. IDA n Ida girls basketball coach Tim Leonard thought his team might be a bit distracted Thursday night. His worries were unnecessary as the Blue Streaks hit their stride early and clinched another Lenawee County Athletic Association title with a 48-23 verdict over Onsted. "We came out very strong," Leonard said. "It was our last home game and with Halloween and everything else going on, I was a bit concerned." Ida jumped out to a 16-6 lead and had a comfortable 30-10 advantage by halftime. The win improved the Blue Steaks to 11-0 in the league and 17-1 overall. They had won two straight LCAA crowns and five of the last six. Lyndsay Miller led a balanced attack with 10 points and Kristen Dye scored 8. Rachel Lorenzo's 16 points helped Ida win the junior varsity game 40-33.
