Thanks to Todd for putting my car up on the hot wheels section. Seeing it up there brought back a flood of memories, I have to share them and since no one around here will listen, you're elected. I built the 34 just before I got out of the AF. We used to go down to a drive in Toledo and drag race for money (of course on the street). I had visions of building the 34, going home and cleaning up. Well, the base had a hobby shop with a torch and all the tools I could ask for. The only fly in ointment, you couldn't leave a car overnight so I had to keep it as a roller and push it back to the barracks every night. They didn't allow non running cars in the barracks parking lot so I had to put it in a different spot every night. The 34 was cherry till I got ahold of it. I got the olds engine mated up to a lasalle transmission (41 IIRC). The bell housing, pressure plate and disk were all from different years but it all bolted up. I finally got the thing running and to show off for the guys I did a smoky burn out with the old worn out rotten tires that I had been pushing it back and forth on. Much to my delight and awe of the onlookers, both back tires blew out. Talk about empressed ... I bet they've still talking about that. I drove the thing all the way back to Michigan from Georgia and my buddy blew it in the weeds with his stock 55 Chevy. needless to say, that was the end of any thoughts I had of winning any money with that thing. --
