COLDWATER - Longtime area school psychologist and children's advocate Reid Eugene Silvers, 67, of Coldwater, formerly of Ida, died at 10:40 p.m. Sunday in his home. He had suffered from lung cancer for 2½ years. Cremation took place Monday. A private memorial service was held Tuesday. Burial was in Coldwater Cemetery. Dutcher Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Surviving are his wife, Susan; a son, Kirk Silvers of Kalamazoo; a daughter, Mrs. Patrick (Kathryn) Lambrix of Ida; a stepson, Nathan Davenport of Coldwater; a stepdaughter, Anne Davenport of Coldwater; two brothers, Jerry of Marietta, Ga., and Wayne of Cave Creek, Ariz.; two sisters, Carol Nealy of Forest Grove, British Columbia, and Beverly Granger of Livingston, Texas; four grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.
